Clean Up Australia Day Event 1

Clean Up Australia Day Event 1 was run by FoGCV on Sunday, 18th February 2024. This event was open to the General Public.
Rubbish collected by 11 volunteers included one sofa, one bicycle, one ironing board, one childproof gate for a staircase, one 355ml stubby of beer (unopened), two star pickets, eight CUAD bags of general rubbish, one and a half CUAD bags of recyclables (mostly drink containers with 10 cent container deposit refund coming our way soon). The area cleaned up was between TH KING Oval and Burke Road, Glen Iris.
Clean Up Australia Day Event 6
Clean Up Australia Day Event 6 was a corporate clean up event with FoGCV and Bunnings held on Wednesday, 6th March 2024. The litter picker tools were quickly adapted to become “selfie sticks”. 15 volunteers collected four and a half CUAD bags of rubbish and located four sharps for collection by the site supervisor at the end of the day.
Summary of CUAD Events held for 2024
The area cleaned up along Gardiners Creek and surrounding streets and parkland this year stretched between Solway Street, Ashburton and Tooronga Road, Glen Iris.
A total of 70 volunteers, 22 CUAD (70 litre) bags of rubbish, 61 LOS (12 litre) bags of rubbish plus various larger items that don’t fit in the bags.
